Smart Manufacturing in Metropolitan Areas
Petar Petrovic is Professor of Manufacturing Engineering and Head of the Cyber-Manufacturing Systems Laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Belgrade. His research interests and teaching expertise are in the field of manufacturing systems design, robotics, soft computing and cognitive systems, manufacturing mechatronics and embedded systems, general systems theory, as well as strategic issues of industrial policy making and urban manufacturing. He has authored several books, more than 170 scientific papers, and has coordinated more than 30 research projects. He is a fellow of the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia (AESS), Chair of the AESS Committee for Technology platforms, AESS representative in the Euro-CASE Board and a member of the Euro-CASE Executive Committee. Currently, he is engaged as a scientific adviser to the Serbian government, advising the minister of the government responsible for innovation and technology.
